Only if you want them to be. 3M Ceramic and Crystalline Window Films are designed to maintain a clear appearance while still providing exceptional heat rejection and UV protection. The Crystalline series, in particular, can be virtually transparent, allowing for an unobstructed view while still offering high levels of protection.
For vehicle registered in Colorado, the windshields must allow at least 70% visible light transmission (VLT), while all other windows must allow at least 27% (VLT). For vehicles registered outside of Colorado, the windshield must have a VLT above 70% with the other windows above 20% VLT.
The installation time can vary depending on the size and type of your vehicle, but it typically takes about 2 – 3 hours to install window film on a sedan. Larger vehicles or those with more complex windows may take longer. We’ll be able to provide a more precise estimate once we know more about your vehicle.
The cleaner your car, the better the installation will be. We ask our clients to wash the exterior of the vehicle before arriving and remove items on the inside that will make the process more difficult.
3M Ceramic IR and Crystalline window films come with a lifetime warranty that covers cracking, peeling, bubbling, and fading.
Caring for your 3M window film is easy. Wait at least a week before cleaning the inside of your windows to allow the film to fully adhere. After that, use a soft, clean cloth and a mild, non-ammonia-based window cleaner to gently clean your windows. Avoid using abrasive materials or harsh chemicals to ensure the longevity of your window film.
